After a few days in Deer Park WA for the Sturgill Simpson concert and catching up with old friends, we were on our way west again. Since we started in the middle of the state, that meant backtracking more than I like to pay for but after a full day of driving, we made it to Packwood WA for some urban street camping complete with wifi.
The next morning we were up bright and early for a quick breakfast then off to Castle Rock WA where some friends of ours had a beautiful driveway for us to surf.
While there we ate great food, helped out in their butcher shop and generally kicked on back, enjoying the inactivity and rainy weather.
Goodbyes are always hard and as much as we would've liked to stay a little longer, we made reservations for Whalers Rest in South Beach OR and headed out the next day,
A little noon nap at a scenic overlook
We finally made it to our campsite right around sundown and got parked and hooked up. We haven't been able to get to many photos or fly the drone since it's been raining for two days straight but we did manage a wet walk on the beach this morning and found ourselves ankle deep in ocean when a thirteenth wave pushed us all the way to the rock wall with nowhere to go. It was funny and terrifying all at the same time.
