Rearranging the living room

Early on we had found the layout of our coach to be a little over furnitured. We prefer more open floor space mostly because of our pets that will be traveling with us. When a black lab decides to lay down, he takes up quite a bit of real estate. The swivel round backs were nice but they don't recline and once we removed the seldom used table, we found that less truly is more.

Once everything was out, I felt there was only one "right" way to use our newly acquired recliners. Eventually the carpet will be replaced with hardwood flooring so I'm not getting carried away with shampooing the carpet in the middle of winter.

The rest of the afternoon was spent testing each chair for defects. None were detected.

Our Victron is on its way!

The MultiPlus is a powerful true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that features adaptive charge technology and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. Models range from 800VA to 5000VA per module.

Unique PowerAssist feature
The MultiPlus will prevent overload of a limited AC source. First, battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur. The second level will boost the output of a generator or shore side supply with power taken from the battery.

Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function)
In the event of a grid failure or shore or generator power being disconnected, the inverter within the Multi is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption.

More excellent luck, karma, fortune!

We are so dang excited about our new furniture that it really hasn't sunk in yet. Found this Flexsteel theatre group on the local Craigslist and we blessed enough to bring them home for under $300! That's 1/10th of what they are new! We should be installing them soon along with more work on the generator install just as soon as the in-house projects are complete.

Winter Update 2015

Hey all! Just a quick check in. We are remodeling bathrooms in our stationary home right now so work on the coach is slow at best but I'm still collecting parts for phase 2 of the 10kw military APU install.

We did get the remote panel mounted before the weather turned and we scored a 50 gallon auxiliary tank for running the APU on "off road diesel". I'm pretty sure we will have twice the generator we need but I plan on using the coach as a life boat later on that can sustain us in remote locations while we build our final home. Thanks all for checking in!
